One for each, or one for every few.
Choose “1 per machine” or “1 box per 5 deck boards.” KitPilot rounds up: 12 deck boards, 3 boxes.
KitPilot suggests only the extras you’ve approved for each product, counts what the shopper’s cart still needs, and goes quiet once the kit is complete.
A cart with two espresso machines doesn’t need six random suggestions. It needs one more water filter and a cleaning brush.
Most recommendation widgets ask, “What else might sell?” KitPilot asks: “What does this order still need?” The result is fewer, clearer suggestions that shoppers trust.
Every suggestion passes four simple checks. If one fails, KitPilot stays quiet.
You pair each product with the accessories that fit it, plus a short note for shoppers. KitPilot never guesses compatibility.
One water filter per machine, one cleaning brush per order. You set it once, and KitPilot does the counting.
Already added one water filter? KitPilot suggests one more, not two.
Once everything you recommend is in the cart, KitPilot says so and stops suggesting.
Real setups aren’t one of everything. Tell KitPilot how each accessory is used, and the cart gets the right amount.
Choose “1 per machine” or “1 box per 5 deck boards.” KitPilot rounds up: 12 deck boards, 3 boxes.
A reusable tool is recommended once, however many machines are in the cart.
Recommendation apps take many approaches, and several are very good at what they do. Here’s where KitPilot puts its focus.
Great for browsing: surfaces popular or related products, often one of each, and keeps showing suggestions.
Great for setups: only approved accessories, counted against the cart, with a clear point where it stops.
| Question | Broad discovery widgets often… | KitPilot is designed to… |
|---|---|---|
| Who decides what’s relevant? | Use algorithms, collections or purchase patterns | Use only pairings you’ve explicitly approved |
| How many should the shopper add? | Suggest a single unit per item | Calculate the amount from your per-product rules |
| What’s already in the cart? | Vary by app. Some hide products already added | Subtract what’s there and suggest only the remainder |
| When does it stop? | Keep showing suggestions | Show “kit complete” and stop suggesting |
This compares approaches, not specific apps. Many apps offer some of these options.
If your products need the right battery, blade, bit, filter or card to be useful, KitPilot is built for you.
Espresso machines → a water filter per machine, descaler, one brush set.
Robot vacuums → a spare filter per robot, side brushes, one cleaning tool.
Tents → stakes per tent, a seam-sealer shared across the trip.
Fixtures → fastener boxes by the dozen, one install tool.
Devices → the right cable per unit, one shared charger.
Flooring → underlay per box, adhesive by coverage.
Kits → consumables per build, one reusable tool.
Cordless tools → blades per job, a single shared battery.
Add KitPilot from the Shopify theme editor. Placement depends on your theme.
A block placed near the buy buttons shows the approved extras for that product before it’s added.
A compact kit check in supported cart drawers, refreshed as the shopper changes quantities.
An app section on the cart template that lists remaining accessories, with checkout unchanged.
Suggestions are opt-in checkboxes. Nothing is added to the cart until the shopper selects it.
No discounts, no price changes, no changes to checkout. Shopify’s cart handles totals, taxes and shipping as usual.
If an accessory is unavailable, KitPilot shows less, and never calls a kit complete on a guess.
Pick a product, approve an accessory, and see your shopper’s cart. It takes less than a minute.
Pick a product, approve the accessory that belongs with it, and see what your shopper sees. Try it below. It takes less than a minute.
Approved accessories appear in the cart, in the amounts the cart still needs.
In KitPilot, inside your Shopify admin, pick a product your shoppers buy, like an espresso machine or a robot vacuum.
Pick the accessories that belong with it, say how many (one per machine, or one per order), add a short note for shoppers, and approve. Up to five per product, including saved drafts.
Place KitPilot’s blocks from the Shopify theme editor. Where your theme supports app blocks, no code is needed. From then on, KitPilot handles the recommendations.
What KitPilot does today, where it runs, what it deliberately leaves alone, and the limits of the current pre-launch version.
No dashboards to learn and no guesswork: just accessories you approve, recommended at the right moment.
KitPilot adds blocks you place from the Shopify theme editor. Every theme is built differently, so placement depends on yours.
KitPilot has been tested in development stores on Shopify’s Horizon, Tinker and Dawn themes. Until then, assume your theme may need a check.
| Product pages | A block placed near the buy buttons in a compatible product section. |
|---|---|
| Cart drawer / side cart | Supported cart drawers: Shopify’s Horizon and Tinker themes. On Dawn-family themes, use the cart page block. Other drawers may not be supported yet. |
| Full cart page | App section added to the cart template from the theme editor. |
| Cart & checkout | Uses Shopify’s native cart. KitPilot doesn’t modify checkout. |
| Theme code edits | Not required where the theme supports app blocks and embeds. Themes without a suitable slot may need assisted setup. |
| Permissions requested | Read-only access to your products, plus permission to show recommendations on your storefront. |
The pre-launch version keeps things focused. These may change before release.
| Accessories per product | Up to 5 per main product, including saved drafts. |
|---|---|
| Suggestions in the cart | Up to 5 accessories at a time. |
| Very large carts | With more than 8 different products in the cart, suggestions pause. Shopping and checkout work normally. |

Catalog consultation & setup
By consultation
For complex catalogs and purchasing rules: catalog consultation, quantity-planning strategy, configuration and implementation, with agreed ongoing optimization.
Ask about a consultation. Scope and price are agreed with each store after a short consultation; we confirm availability before any work starts.
Prices are in US dollars and shown on Shopify’s plan page before you approve. Development stores are not charged. KitPilot does not create discounts or change your product prices.
Shopify. You choose a plan on Shopify’s own plan page, and the charge appears on your Shopify invoice. KitPilot never asks for card details.
Yes. Starter includes a 14-day free trial, shown on Shopify’s plan page before you approve.
Recommendations keep working until the end of the period you have paid for. Then they pause, and your recommendations stay saved so you can pick up where you left off. Your cart and checkout keep working normally throughout.
Uninstalling ends your plan on Shopify and stops KitPilot on your storefront. Your saved recommendations are kept in case you reinstall. About 48 hours later Shopify asks us to erase your store’s data; we check the request and erase it within 30 days, unless you have reinstalled. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
A plain status report, not a promise of dates.
Approved accessories, quantities, cart awareness, set builder and kit-complete, tested end to end in development stores.
Plans through Shopify, cancellation, uninstall and data deletion, and setup on Shopify’s Horizon, Tinker and Dawn themes, tested in development stores.
Submission to the Shopify App Store. KitPilot can be installed once Shopify approves it.
Everything starts as a draft. Nothing reaches shoppers until you approve it and add KitPilot to your theme.
Install KitPilot from the Shopify App Store and open it. On Plan & billing, choose a plan on Shopify’s page and approve it.
On Recommendations, choose New recommendation: pick the main product, the accessory and the quantity: a fixed amount, or one accessory for every so many units. You can also create drafts from your catalog or import a CSV or XLSX file with product handles or SKUs; you see every row checked before anything is saved.
Open each draft, check the preview of what shoppers will be offered, and choose Approve & activate. Approving confirms you checked that the accessory suits the product; KitPilot never guesses compatibility.
Work on a copy of your theme first. From the KitPilot home page, use the buttons that open your theme editor with KitPilot placed, or add the blocks yourself: Smart Add-Ons on the product page, KitPilot Cart Add-Ons on the cart page, and the cart drawer embed on Horizon-family themes. No code is needed.
Add a main product to the cart in the theme preview and check the accessories and quantities. Shopify’s checkout opens as usual. Publish the theme when you’re happy.
| Page | Use | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Product page | Smart Add-Ons (recommended), or Complete Your Setup when shoppers often arrive with part of the kit | Use one of the two, not both: they show the same accessories. |
| Products sold as a set | Build Your Set, on a product template used only by those products | Shoppers step through the kit and add it in one go. |
| Cart | KitPilot Cart Add-Ons: the cart page block, or the cart drawer embed on Horizon and Tinker | On Dawn-family themes use the cart page; their drawer isn’t supported. |
Check three things: the recommendation is Live (not a draft or paused), the accessory is in stock and available on the Online Store, and the Smart Add-Ons block is in the product template you are previewing. Also check that your plan is active on Plan & billing; recommendations pause when there is no active plan.
KitPilot rounds up and subtracts what is already in the cart. For “1 per 2 units”, 3 boards need 2; if one is already in the cart, it offers 1. When two products share an accessory, choose on the KitPilot home page whether their needs are shared (the larger need wins) or combined (they add up). The editor’s preview shows the exact amounts.
Turn on KitPilot Cart Add-Ons under App embeds in the theme editor. The drawer is supported on Horizon and Tinker; on other themes, add the cart page block instead.
With more than 8 different products in the cart, KitPilot pauses its suggestions to stay fast. Shopping and checkout keep working normally.
Each row needs a main product and an accessory (handle or SKU), and an optional quantity from 1 to 99 and “per” number from 1 to 999. Rows with errors are listed with the reason and are never imported; fix them and upload again. Files can be up to 1 MB.
Remove the KitPilot blocks and turn off its app embed in the theme editor, then save. KitPilot leaves no code in your theme.
Open KitPilot → Plan & billing → Choose a plan on Shopify. Shopify shows your options and handles the change. Uninstalling the app also cancels the plan.
Until the end of the paid period, nothing changes. Afterwards, KitPilot’s suggestions disappear and the store works exactly as before. Your saved recommendations remain in KitPilot while it stays installed.
Charges are made by Shopify. Contact us with your store’s myshopify address and we will look at your request.
Your recommendations and settings, the product details needed to show them, and daily totals of views, selections and adds without any shopper identifier. KitPilot reads your products only; it has no access to orders or customer records. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Uninstall KitPilot: it stops on your storefront at once, and your saved recommendations are kept in case you reinstall. Shopify then asks us to erase your store’s data (normally about 48 hours later); we check the request and erase it within 30 days. To ask for earlier deletion or a copy of your data, see Support.

Not yet. KitPilot is finishing Shopify’s App Store review. See Plans & launch status.
No, you do. You choose every accessory and confirm it fits. KitPilot never guesses compatibility.
You tell it once, for example one water filter per coffee machine, or one cleaning brush per order. KitPilot then checks what’s already in the cart and suggests only what’s missing.
It depends on the theme. KitPilot uses Shopify’s theme app blocks and has been tested on Shopify’s Horizon, Tinker and Dawn themes (on Dawn, cart suggestions appear on the cart page rather than in the drawer). Other Online Store 2.0 themes usually work but are not tested; vintage themes are not supported.
No. Accessories are added at your normal prices, and Shopify’s checkout handles discounts, taxes and shipping as usual.
No. You add KitPilot from Shopify’s theme editor and remove it the same way. It leaves no code in your theme.
No. Shoppers choose the accessories they want. Nothing is added without their say.
KitPilot won’t suggest it, and won’t show the kit as complete while it’s missing.
With more than 8 different products in the cart, KitPilot pauses its suggestions. Shopping and checkout keep working normally.

KitPilot is a Shopify app operated by Techno International LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we”, “us”). For merchant data, we act as a service provider (processor) to the merchant who installs KitPilot. This policy explains what KitPilot processes when merchants install it and when shoppers visit their stores.
KitPilot requests only read access to products and permission to show recommendations on the storefront (Shopify scopes read_products and write_app_proxy). It does not request access to orders, customers or payments.
On the storefront, KitPilot’s script reads the product and variant identifiers and quantities in the shopper’s cart, in the shopper’s browser, to work out which approved accessories are still missing. To fetch recommendations, the browser sends product identifiers and quantities to KitPilot through Shopify’s app proxy. Shopify signs these requests and may attach the shop domain and, for a logged-in shopper, a customer identifier; KitPilot does not store that identifier.
KitPilot keeps daily totals of how often recommendations are shown, selected and added to the cart, per store and product, without any shopper identifier. KitPilot does not set cookies, does not build shopper profiles and does not store shoppers’ names, email addresses, addresses, payment details or order history.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
KitPilot uses Shopify (platform and billing), Render (application hosting and database, United States, Virginia region) and Amazon Web Services (storage of privacy-request records, United States, Ohio region). Each processes data only to provide its service to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the service.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to its use. Shoppers: KitPilot stores no shopper profiles; please contact the store you shopped with, which controls its customer data and can make a request through Shopify. Merchants: email us from the address on your Shopify account with the subject “Data request”, or uninstall KitPilot, which starts the erasure process described above. We respond within 30 days.

We will post any changes here with a new effective date, and tell merchants about material changes in the app or by email.
These Terms govern use of the KitPilot Shopify app (the “Service”) provided by Techno International LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the Service, the merchant (“you”) agrees to these Terms and to the Shopify terms that apply to apps. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you can bind that business.
KitPilot shows accessory recommendations on your storefront based on the products, quantities and rules you configure and approve, and adds selected items to Shopify’s own cart. KitPilot does not decide whether products are compatible, safe or suitable for one another. You are responsible for the accuracy of the recommendations, notes and quantity rules you approve, and for your products, prices and store policies.
Paid plans are billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice, at the price and billing period shown on Shopify’s plan page before you approve. KitPilot Starter costs $29 every 30 days after a 14-day free trial. You can change or cancel your plan from KitPilot’s Plan & billing page or by uninstalling. After cancellation the Service continues until the end of the period Shopify confirms as paid; recommendations then pause. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law or as we agree in writing. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next billing period. Development stores are not charged.
You keep all rights in your store data. You allow us to process it only to provide and support the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
You will not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation or security, attempt to access other merchants’ data, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it in breach of law or Shopify’s policies.
The Service, including its software, recommendation methods and content, is owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your plan is active.
The Service relies on Shopify theme app extensions; placement depends on your theme, and we do not guarantee compatibility with every theme or customization. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Recommendations may pause (for example for very large carts or when data cannot be confirmed); your Shopify cart and checkout keep working normally. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a core paid feature during a paid period without notice.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise any particular sales result.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your products, your store, the recommendations and rules you approve, or your breach of these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access for material breach, non-payment or legal requirements, with notice where reasonable. What happens to your data after you uninstall is described in the Privacy Policy (Retention & deletion).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state courts located in Polk County, Florida, or the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law of your country requires otherwise.
We may update these Terms; material changes take effect 30 days after we post them or notify you. Contact: Techno International LLC, Florida, United States · support@kitpilot.app
